Just curious if anyone has or knows how this race would be. This guy has a newer CTS, I believe its like an 02 or something (its the one in Matrix Reloaded) and he's been talking shit like he's faster than everything. I know he's bone stock but so am I, just OE H&R drop. I never really looked in to those 4 door Cadillacs, but I know they're not too quick 1/4 mile, I think like 15's or something, but I could be wrong. Just curious as to how the race would more than likely end up???

If its a 3.5L it'll be a drivers race. The standard 3.2 V6 only has like 220hp, but if its a manual it'll be a decent race if he can drive good. You should win though, as long as you launch decently.

 

I heard the fastest CTS goes from 0-60 in 7.1

That's like a CLP. Don't know which one, just heard the fastest.

He should be at least a car length ahead by then.

Chaptorial - No its definately not the CTS-V. This dude's Caddy is daddy bought cause his dad is like a manager of a caddy dealer. And it appears to be the V6 model but like I said I'm not too sure how to spot the difference between the V6 and V8. I know its definately not the beefed up version though (unless the V8 is the one you posted). i just hate that this guy talks shit and he doesnt even pay for the car!!

 

Yeah it’s easy to tell which one is the CTS-V with all the badges and that front mesh grill.

The other two powertrains are:

3.6L V6 VVT 255hp/252lbft

4.6L V8 VVT 320hp/315lbft


The V6 model shouldn't give you any trouble however if you go up against the V8 one (non CTS-V) considering your stock, it gonna be interesting.

Now it might be the earlier models with less power which would clearly be in your favor.

The CTS does not have the 4.6L V8 optional, thats the STS. It only has the base 3.2L V6, optional 3.5L V6, and CTS-V with the Corvette LS6 5.7L V8.

 

Yeah that was my bad. Guess i was thinking of the STS then cuz i don't know where i pulled the 4.6 from.

If it's an auto, then it could be the 3.5L 255 hp engine. If it's a stick, then it's definitely a 3.2L engine. You can't get the high performance engine with a stick... yet.

Most big talkers usually don't have what it takes to back it up. My guess is that he just has the 3.2L engine. You'll bag him. Have fun.

 

allout & i raced one during the WCM2 while going to the coast. you will win if it's the cts and not the cts-v. i was stock at the time and beat him by acouple of car length. you will be tied up until 3rd gear where the cl-s start to pull. oh yeah, i think it was 3.2 also.

 

I see your from Southern Cali. Ask him if he'd like to run a good old 3.0 just to start off with I'll run him for you....

it's been more than a week. why don't you go out and race him, get a video and come back with it.

Funny you write this cause I just came back from racing him.....I took my girl with me and she was in the car with me so she didnt take a vid of it. Well 1st race was from a dig, and it was pretty even until the end of 3rd gear where I started to creep away. 4th gear I started pulling away to about 1 1/2 cars or so and then shut it down as I went into 5th. 2nd race was from about a 20-25 mph roll, and he cheated a bit and took off a little too soon but it didnt matter cause as I went into 2nd I started to match up evenly then pulled away and into 3rd pulled a bit more, then 4th it was pretty much over and he shut it down before I did. He started saying shit like, "Well mines a sedan and yours is a coupe, so I kinda expected it to end up like this." I told him then you shouldnt talk so much shit. I mean its an ok looking car, but I wouldnt drive it. Well that settles that. I need a bit better traction to the ground though cause the stock Michelins blow. I had some Falken Azenis on my old car and those stuck like glue. I can feel the difference big time. Now I just need to get some rims and tires. i could get h/i/e but not really looking to race this car out, more or less just roll it pretty clean looking. I just had to race this joke to shut his big ass mouth up ...Thanks for all the info before hand though!!
