CL-S header options.

Hey guy, I was aware that there were a few options when it came too headers for our vehicle. (Ex.Comptech,Alphawerks, megan,OBX) What I was not aware is that Dc sports made a set. Or is this wrong?
http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...=1317&c=54&l=2

I have always used Dc sports headers when it comes too my honda acura 4cyl's with great results, Should I expect the same from these? Anyone have any knowledge they could through my way?

I'd contact DC Sports directly & find out for sure. I've seen online stores have made up fitments for the CLS .

I spoke to them and they said it was a header for the 01-03 CLS, but NOT the down pipe. So I guess it's just the 3 piece on each side that goes into 1.

I've read where you've mentioned this before... Are you sure you don't just flat out have an exhaust leak in the header somewhere?? From the way you describe it, that's what it sounds like to me. Unless I'm completely wrong here and that's just what the CL's header "resonance" sounds like... Never heard one with headers before and mine aren't installed yet.

I got these XS Power headers off of Ebay. They seem to be fine. SSautochrome sold them. Do a search & you will find my posts with pics.

I decided to give the XS Power ones Fuzzy went with a shot. I've had them since before Christmas. I'll ge them installed one of these days. I've tried twice now and I keep hitting snags. Long story short... First time, couldn't get all 3 nuts on the cat loose but had everything else loose, gave up. Second time, took the car over to a local shop, they loosened those 3 nuts for me, so I could get them off, then got the car back to the folk's garage, went to do the install again, couldn't get one of the nuts from the A-pipe and stock manifold on the front side loose (which I had loosend on the first try), got pissed, said WTF! and gave up. Next time (hopefully next weekend) I'm taking the car back to the shop, having all 9 of them loosened, taking back to garage and trying one last time. If I can't get them installed after that, I'm selling the fuckers and saying fuck headers! Sorry, touchy subject... I refuse to pay someone to install them for me.

Oh yeah, and all of those bolts had been soaking in Liquid Wrench for a couple of hours and the car was cold.

Exclamation beware of Alpahwerks and Nexus

never buy Alphawerks !!! Some people got lucky. But if there's a problem Nexus will turn their back on you. Arrogant assholes run that company.

i dont know if its the headers or because i dont have a resonator or both but all i know is i hate the sound but the good thing is that it only makes the noise at above 3 rpms so as long as i dont slam on the gas no one would hear the sound

I have a set of AW headers and I dont know if this sounds normal but i had to weld them twice because of exhaust leaks out the center pipe of the header. For all the money i've spent on repairs i would defintely spend the money and buy comptechs.

I'd bet my money on that fact that you don't have a resonator is the reason for that sound.
