CL redesign schedule
I didn't realize you could tap that much performance out of it with just a few mods
Also, unlike the CLS, there are makers out there who make transmission chips for the automatic trans. volvos so that these volvos can accommodate the hp changes w/o a hitch.
Like I said, these are the basic mods to get to that amount of horsepower.
The AT tranny from Volvo is a different story.
The normal AT is nice but the Geartronic, I think like Acura SS mode?, just plain sucks.
The end reduction is huge and the gear ratio's are dead wrong.
The Geartronic system is slower as a turtle.
The MT S60 has a VERY sportive tranny and engine combination and the AT is just a relative fast comfertable highway cruiser.
These basic mods can be applied to the C70T5 also and with this setup the car stays very reliable.
The 2001 S60/V70 has a few known bugs and rattles but the 2002 model is very good quality wise.
The trannies are strong enough to withstand around 300 HP and around 400-420 NM torque.
The suspension needs some attention to make is a little more sportive but 18" and 19" rims are no problem and shocks and springs are available now also.
The Volvo's are no draggers because they run on reduced power in the first gear when standard.
A 250 hp standard T5 does 0-60 just under 7 seconds, a 300+ HP T5 does almost the same most of the time but once in 3rd gear the fun really starts and most equally powered cars can be outperformed.
Reading these threads I guess the Acura CL has a good gear ratio combination for sprint from stand still with AT transmission but I never heard anyone about low end and midrange torque.

Johann, thanks for the friendly response
I personally haven't heard of anyeone who has had problems w/a volvo w/the type of mods you have. I was just curious b/c I don't come across peeps who have modded their volvos often. I'd like to get a volvo c70 HPT and mod it in a sleeper fashion, esp. since there aren't many c70s around my way

He is selling on E-Bay becouse it was a lease and he modded 20k into it and the dlr will not take it back.

I know someone with the most modded c70 I have ever witnessed. He is selling on E-Bay becouse it was a lease and he modded 20k into it and the dlr will not take it back.
its been through...ehhhheh
Holy shit, i would nvr drop 20K on mods, esp. for a lease car
Instead of putting that much money into the car, I'd drop it into something like a 97+ NSX-T

I hadnt heard that. Seems to follow what they did the Jeeps though. I take it the new SL320 is a V6?
too bad... the inline 6 is a great engine.
