It may be faster, but it will probably crap out with some weird ass electrical problem midway through the race.

Don't get me started.

If I popped the trunk open on mine while the lights are on, it would short out all the bulbs on the left side of the car only.

And let's not talk about how I'd have to get into the car by the passenger door every once a week... looked real pimp w/ da ladies...

I'd say at best you can tie. I had a 99 gti vr6 (5 speed) and it felt every bit as fast as my CLS. They are light and move good.

I raced a 1.8T GT1 and put 2 cars on him through the first two gears; we were both stock.

I think it's only the 1.8Ts that had the coil issues, VR6 should be more or less ok in that respect

Give them time. They'll develop something even more f*cked than the previous issue.

My opinion of VW ->

I had a 98 Jetta VR6 5 speed with just a CAI, did a 15.33 on the first pass, and a 15.33 on the second pass, then went home. So I guess they're in the 15.3 range! Local VW dealer was so rotten that I sold the car and will NEVER buy another VW as long as I live. Was fun to drive though.

You and me both bro.

I had no problem with the dealer... the car was my problem.
