Cl navi complete kit installation

hi guys,

i am going to buy this navigation system where it includes the HVAC, screen mount, radio, etc, all i want to know is with all this in place will i have to do extra wiring or it becomes a DYI and will post one, but thats ONLY if i know for sure theres not extra wiring or anything because its the complete set i might be able to buy it and be able to just install it myself but once again that depeneds upon extra wiring or not.

any ideas?

regardless of it being a full kit or not, there will be a ton of wiring. The wires for the stock navi are run through the main wire harness, it would cost a lot of money and time to buy and replace that harness. the only other option is to wire it yourself seperate from the stock wiring. to give you and idea i went through 100ft of 6 conductor wire and about 50ft of single conducter... not to mention you will need to tear nearly the entire car apart.
the link belwo will give you an idea of what you are in for.

If you havent already bought, I'd just buy aftermarket nav. Not only will it be nearly the equivilent in quality, it will most likely play DVD's and enhance your current stereo set up.

I went with the DDX8017.....great looking screen for $1600, there are cheaper alternatives that often look better.

nope, the new nav is $800. I think pioneer's got one for like 12oo with built in nav, eclipse has one as well. Several options.

hey, if these guys do discourage you with going through the non-navi to navi conversion, shoot me a pm. I'm looking to go though this myself and am looking for the equipment to do so.

Eclipse makes some really good DVD Navi's...check them out before before you do OEM install.

the kenwood navi addon is less than 600, not 800, and its a garmin, you can't beat that.
