Super charger question

If I got just the standard CT SC do I need to do anything else to the car? If I added the HBP would I need to change anything?

If I do go FI, I don't want the cooler or have to mess with air/fuel mapping etc.

well I think with the HBP of course you need to change the stock pulley. You may have replace the belt. I'm not sure of this. I believe you have to relocate the battery to the trunk in order to have room for the charger and all. Other than that I don't know.

Well here is a link to the instructions:

http://www.comptechusa.com/store/med...ons/ins104.pdf

You do not need to relocate your battery to the trunk. You just need to buy the 51R battery. Interstate # is MT51R. It is the Civic battery so it is shorter. The kit includes a new fuel pump and FPR and ESM so fuel management is covered. Besdies that it is recommended (so you can get max hp) to get headers and exhaust. You have the headers and axlebacks so you should be good. You could get the B-pipe.

Keep in mind that installing the HBP voids your warranty from Comptech. You will need to have some tuning done to compensate for the additional boost/hp.

Well yeah I know how to install. I mean do I need to upgrade other parts of the car. Like I don't want to have to buy an emanage or have to mess with air fuel settings or tuning. That's what I'm asking.

Hmm.. maybe Mrsteve can chime in but with the HBP you will need to raise the fuel pressure via the FPR. Some have opted to go with the E-Manage too with the HBP but I don't believe it is necessary. Again though doing the E-Manage will allow you to fine tune the setup better and also allow you to pull some timing and add/subtract some fuel.

With the stock kit (low boost) it is pretty much plug and play. A tranny cooler is recommended, but you don't have to futz with anything else.

When you step up to the HBP, it becomes a little more complicated to get the most out of it, or that is my impression :waitsforMrStevetotellhimhe'swrong:.

Octane becomes more critical, you have to be alert for detonation, and emanage for best results. Still, the 5 lb HBP is not too bad. When you go higher boost than this, then the items I mentioned become even more critical and the aftercooler is really needed.

Everyone that has stepped up to the HBP has praised it, so maybe i'm overstating the issues. I run low boost, and while I like to mod, I don't like to worry.
