Cl or CLs how much faster.
Cl or CLs how much faster.
I have a cl p and i know all the tech. info but is .5 sec in 0-60.
Is that much of a difference to get me persuaded to get a cls?
It was either the cl's no navi or the clp with navi
and 1000 more on insurance for the cls a year.
i took the clp with navi for 26380 zero miles,
2001 out the door.
and i love the navi.

Personally, I think .5 sec is HUGE. Maybe some physics expert could derive a formula to tell you how many car lengths it would, but I would guess its somewhere around 2 carlengths.
It should be about the same difference as a modded CL-S and a late model Z28, which we all know would be substantial.
Or, you could......
Race one and find out!!!!!!

for instance, in bobsleding, a fraction of a second is an eternity
and medals are determined by 1/1000th of a sec.
i think from a dead start, around the end of 2nd gear, a CLS would start pulling on me. Thats how I remembered with traction control on.
There is a physics formula that would tell you exactly how far apart the 2 cars would be, given a .5 sec difference, I just don't remember it and frankly am too lazy to look it up....
I think moo posted that .1 second is about a car length. If this is true, then you are looking at roughly 4 - 5 car lenghts. That is a BIG difference. I am sure this isn't scientific, but I am sure it is close. Even if its 3 car lengths, that is a HUGE difference.
