The Cl can take some Abuse
Well I was at FAU in boca tonight, it was pouring rain, not any lights to illuminate the area and I did not see any signs of speed bumps. Well going 28mph I look in front of me and with no time to stop I go right over a huge speed bump. I have H&R Sport Springs and Tokico HP Shocks, so I am decently low to the ground. I heard a huge thump like the car broke and it was terrible. I am guessing the back wheel rubbed up against the top and side of the wheel well badly. I stopped at the nearby shell and checked the car. The front didnt scrape, and the back tire/wheel well looked fine. I did a quick inspection of the shocks and springs and they still seemed to be intact okay. The car drove fine on the way back. Not only that I with no choice was going over puddles that definitely submerged my aem cold air intake, but I was giving it no throttle so it did not suck up the water saving the car. Then on the way home, I-95 is walled in with a terrible draining system in some parts and my cl with contiextremecontacts with about 5k miles left could not handle it, the VSA was going crazy as it was going over huge sheets of water.
Bottom Line: I think the CL can take some moderately abuse after being lowered and that
makes me feel better after that huge speedbump hit.
BTW: How would I know if one of my shocks/springs are damaged or become defective?

There just seems to be 1 specific part that can't hold its own.

I had a kind of similar situation with my old 97 Accord. The car was probably only a couple weeks old...it was lowered on neuspeed springs with 2 1/2 coils cut...so pretty slammed. I came up to an intersection and there was a water drainage across the road, then the middle of the road was raised, then another water drainage. Essantially it looked like this " -------\______/**********\______/--------- " if that makes any sense. Anyhow, I hit the first dip, jumped the car then landed nose first into the reverse side of the second dip. I nailed my crossmember and oil pan on the ground. After a long inspection I noticed 2 dents on either side of the rear of my sunroof...so it obviously put some major strain on the unibody, but other than that...no damage. About a year later I put hydraulics in the car and really beat it up...but still...kept on ticking.
