Chrysler to roll out 11 new models by 2004
Chrysler Group will introduce 11 new vehicles by 2004, group president and CEO Dieter Zetsche said. Mr. Zetsche told a National Press Club luncheon that the new vehicles are part of the company's five-year, $30 billion investment plan in new products. Mr. Zetsche also said Chrysler was working with Mitsubishi on several platform-sharing arrangements that will produce new products.
Mr. Zetsche appeared to back off Chrysler's plans to begin selling a hybrid gas-electric version of its Durango sport utility vehicle in 2003. The company announced in October 2000 the hybrid Durango would get about 18.6 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving -- a 20 percent improvement over the current model.
Mr. Zetsche also said that he expected fuel economy standards will be increased by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the Senate failed to pass a 36 mile per gallon standard this week.

Yeap. Saw that today Acura Service and I am not surprised. But Chrysler and Daimler have much deeper problems that will make it very difficult for them to get out of the mess they are in. Instead of taking lessons from GM and others, they end being being the least productive auto company on the planet.
How pathetic.
How pathetic.

they have a nice design facility though, nice looking cars

Chrysler needs to dig through the Mercedes parts bins a little deeper. They need to come up with something that is an alternative to buying a higher priced model based on quality as priority number one.

Chrysler may have nice & innovative designs to their cars, but their quality & reliability don't back it up... I had a Chrysler Sebring before, and NEVER again any Chrysler nor GM for that matter.
I was in the market for a C5 since it came out in 97. Every year I would keep track of their problems & reliability issues, and even now, 02 Z06 405hp is an awesome car for the price, almost bought one, but still quality & reliability issues are still not resolved ! So, no Z06...
GM needs to wake up... The turn over rates for C5 owners are ridiculous, & Chevrolet services treat C5 owners the same way they treat their Cavalier owners..
