Check Phi's Grill

Looks really really nice, painted black.

I want to grill my lower bumper in between the roadlamps. w/ this black grill. L@@ks much better than plain steel or silver color IMO.

Where did you buy the grill material? I was thinking of putting it on my car (lower). More details, please.

That looks sweet! I bought that gutter guard stuff at Home Depot a couple weeks ago, but haven't gotten around to trying to cut the stuff for the grill. The stuff I bought is the shiny silver color but that black looks soooooooo much better.

Any tips on how to do the work? Regardless, great job!

Saw Phi's car this weekend and noticed it right away. The grill feels like plastic, but he said it was metal... just painted a few times. It's pretty.

Looks cool but how is the clean up process? Bugs must really get stuck in the little spaces.

Dang that is so sweet. I love that alot better than the silver. But yes please someone please post the instructions. This is definitely a project ill be working on asap. Does anyone know if you need to remove the acura sign to do the process or did he just cut round it? Thanks.

This is very easy to do. I tried painting my grill too but black doesn't look that good if you look straight in the grille.

Well I got some secrets out of him.. heheh

He used a gutter grill that came in a 5 pack from homedepot about 5 buck . and used regualar interior/exterior paint.

it just gets sandwiched together between the black and the chrome piece, he took the middle wing out and the grill just gets sandwiched inbetween the out edges.

Thanks for the nice compliments. Joe asked me to post this picture of his photoshop work on his rendition of the black grill on the CL-S.

As for the A symbol, I jacked it off of a white CL-S in Northern VA. heh just kidding, that is the original emblem and is secured with the original mounting screws. If you pop your hood and look under where the grill is, you will see a bunch of screws that hold on the chrome wing and the Acura symbol. If someone let me borrow their front grill I can try to make one for the CL-S.

Phi is there any specific paint that i should use. I just bought most of the supplies that ithink i need but im not fully sure if it matters on what paint i use and if i need to coat it with a primer afterwards. Also how do you get the wires to stay secure. Did you just glue it down behind? I dont particularly want the thing to just fall off while i wash my car or anythin gyou know. THanks alot man.
