check engine light with OBX headers? why

Well, I had the OBX headers installed and the intake resonator removed today. the car feels like a different animal. I expected alot more grunt, but I guess i was just expecting too much. It still feels a bit faster and sounds alot different. The car does have that resonance at 2800 rpm and i used the stock gaskets. The real problem is with the check engine light, it lit up when i turned my car on for the second time at home since I got the headers. I'm afaraid if I reset the ecu, the problem will still be there. any suggestions?

before the light came on, I took out the ecu/cruise control fuse and proceeded to turn the car on to see if the car would operate with the fuse not in place. the car did turn on and I figured that the ecu wasn't reset. it was gewtting cold. so i went inside. An hour later, i returned to drive the car around and as I drove out, i noticed the light was on. could that mhave been the reason? I'm really hoping that the O2 sensor is okay.

Rondog why didn't you tell me this happen to me also when I installed the foglights. I was looking for a circuit that only worked while the car was on and the process I took out the same fuse your talking about. Well here is what happens you either didn't turn your gas cap 3 clicks or your computer is showing that there is a problem

How I fixed it took it to the dealer and they reset it the computer....thats it never came back on. Dude you showed of just unplugged the battery if you wanted to reset the ECU. Damn see if you know somebody with that computer testing machine the dealers plugs in the slot under the ash tray. All you have to do is to reset it but don't wait cause you might be fawking up something else.

did they question you about the headers? What did they say was the cause of the O2 sensor going bad?

I had the same check engine light problem because of my Comptech headers. The dealer replaced the O2 sensor under warranty though. The tech said he figured the O2 sensor would need to be replaced once he saw I had the Comptech headers.
