Check Engine Light Flashing

My check engine light started flashing under hard acceleration this morning. I was experiencing a bit of wheel hop at the top end of first and into second gear. Is this normal I've never noticed it before? Any known reason why this would occur?

Normal. Wheel hop & lack of traction causes what the ECU thinks is misfires & flashes the CEL. Nothing to worry about.

If you aren't using a good rubber and it's wet, a missfire isn't such a bad thing.
