Check Engine Light

Hi Guys. I added the Valvoline fuel injector cleaning solution into my tank of gas and then topped the gas up with Sunoco Ultra 94. Now I have a check engine light on.

I'm taking it in to get checked out tomorrow and will write what they say but do you think it could be related to the fuel injector cleaner?

I found the thread about the loose gas cap and that's not the issue.

No I didn't add it while the car was on.

Okay guys this is what they told me. It's due to the additives in the fuel. We should not add anything to the gas and while filling the tank also don't fill beyond the first click. Anyways I have a who bunch of stuff getting done to the car today so they'll just throw the clearing of the PCM codes for free.

I've getting a tune up and thier putting in the NGK irridiums so we shall see the dif!

Never heard about not adding additives (although I personally don't beleive in them), and I always go beyond the first click (top off), never had a problem.

Man my english sucks in the morning!

That's what they told me but I asked them to call me when they've found out what set the CEL.

I also asked them to put the original Timing belt in the trunk because I think they con'ed me into getting it done now instead of 168,000KMS.

#^&$@#@$$@#@!

Well got the results. This thread is closed! The CEL came on because my gas cap was not screwed on tight enough. It tripped and code (1456) and then the CEL didn't want to come off. So they are gonna charge me the $95 it cost them to reset the CEL.

Final bill $1,725.87 from Acura North Toronto in Ontario, Canada!
: That's timing belt, water pump, tensioner, outer CV boot replacement, spark plug change (I provided my own spark plugs), alergen filter replacement, and Labour.

They were nice enough to give me a loaner car (04 EL 1.7 :P ) but damn that's gonna hurt my bank!!
