Center console light?

Whats the deal with the blue light at the bottom of the center console that looks like a fuse? That light is apperently heating up the inside of my console. I had put a little bottle of listerine and put it in there and when I grabbed it a few hours later the bottle was super hot. I could see if I left it in a hot car all day but it was nightime when I bought it & night when I tried to use it.

It could be like the 7th and 8th gen Accords that had an "ambient" light in the homelink unit.

Here's some pic's of the light/fuse thing whatever its called cuz its looks more like a fuse than a light. It only comes on if the headlights are on. My car is a 2003 Acura 3.2CL type S automatic for those who asked. Thes pics are taken on a crappy cell phone camera in the daylight so its kind of hard to see but its just above the AUX outlet. If you know anything about it hit me up. Thanks.

This is it lit up during the day.

Got that in my 2001 3.2 CL-S Automatic too. It is hot but I don't think it could heat up a listerine bottle...

Yea, I doubt that light is really heating up the console. My console gets hot when I drive. I mainly attribute it to the exhaust heat right there.

No, the tranny is in front of the driver. We're FWD.

I have that light in my 01 CL. I took the blue cover off so it has more light.
Just helps to illuminate the console storage at night time, no big deal.

That casing comes off with a flathead and the bulb used for that is the same type for the side door lights which are wedged based bulbs. I just tested it out today but the bulb I used doesn't emit enough light so I'm going to get the #921 Matrix bulb from http://autolumination.com/906.htm Here's some pics I took today.
