After I start my car, my CEL blinnks for about 5 seconds. I know it normally stays on, but this is longer, after all the other lights go out, it will blink a few times then go away and this is only when I start the car. It started happening when I was at around 49,900 miles. I figure its just some kind of service reminder but I don't see a big 50K service in the book Any help? Thanks in advance.

 

Is it the CEL or the maintenance due light?

 

The “Check Engine” light and the “Maintenance Required” light are two entirely different things.
Get it checked out, you might have a problem.

Nope, it comes on for your 30k maintnence, etc. It just to remind you you need to waste more money at the dealer.

 

werd, yea, i was about to edit my comments bc its just for mileage, im not used to it, my other cars just had a check engine light, im about to push the buttom to reset that bitch now, thanks
