thats right, my CD player no longer works (and for those that think its just the more common jambing, it no longer even gets to the CD #'s, just straight to "ER-E1")

anyway, since we have to pull out the entire radio unit which is pretty big, what aftermarket systems will fit well?? (i dont care for a whole system with subs amps etc, just looking for head unit).

I've seen custom screens put in within the big radio area, any ideas on that?

thanks alot for ideas, im lost with radios and the like, maybe i should just finally buy an Ipod and get the adapter...

and whats really gay is 6 Armin Van Buuren CDs are stuck in there...i miss those mixes, haven't heard them in months with this problem!!

But...if I were you though I would re-post your questions in the Audio forum.

As for me...I went with a Metra Kit and installed a regular DIN CD player.

Leaves an empty lower pocket which will be filled eventually with a 1/2 DIN equalizer.

 

Disconnect your battery and wait 5 minutes then reconnect it and turn on the stereo should spit out all CDs. I did this and then it works fine.

If you want a new stereo look for a double DIN headunit.

 

That is the common CD problem. Same thing just yours doesn't want to work at all. Same thing happened to mine. But it was early & was replaced under warranty.
Chances are if it's giving that error & won't work at all your not going to get it to work.
Buy a used one in black market or Ebay. Make sure it come with the radio code.

 

If your tape player works.

Just hook up an MP3 player if you have one.

Even though its a 6 disc changer...the Mp3 player is easier for me to switch up tunes when I'm on the road.

Carrying CD's is kind of a hassle anyways...but typically sound better then mp3 based on bit rate.

i see you're into real Trance yourself. very nice. the absolute best, and only driving music. i cannot do this radio thing much longer!!

maybe ill pick up "search of sunrise" since you recommend it, and having seen you around the boards for some time, ill respect your opinion by now, even on music...

 

Possible solutions: Hook up your MP3 player to the deck, get a double din screen with DVDs and navi or buy another stock radio. If you want your CDs back and you are doing one of the last 2 suggestions, then i would dismantle/smash the player. Its broken anyways.
