CAT convertes heat shield
what is the purpose for the cats heat shield
i took it off to install my headers and i was wondering if i should put it back on. is it bad to leave it off?

Okay, first your talking about the Headers and then the cat shield... The shield on top where the headers bolt to the block are not needed. The shield down where the A-pipe connects to the Cat is needed, it keeps the bottom of your ride from catching on fire... What did you remove it for? You don't need to remove that shield to install headers...

You don't have to remove the cat heat shield to install the headers. But since you did, it's not mandatory to reinstall the cat heat shield but you may as well. Less parts to lose later.
