Car Value
I do not think it would be any different if they redesigned it.
Because technically, if they introduce a "NEW" redesigned cl, then the current CL is more or less discontinued anyway.
Just because a name lives on doesn't mean it will help resale of the older car.

Looking at the Legend the name was changed to Rl, but the Legends continue to have great resale value. I agree with Shawn the 6speed may not get hit as hard as the 5speeds. Oh well

Shouldn't affect it too bad, it's still an excellent car, loaded, etc.

If the car was a POS, hot today & not tomorrow, I'd be worried. But the 48 month warranty & lux appeal is not going anywhere. This time of year everyone takes a hit on trade in.

Well, supposedly there were VERY few 6-speeds sold in the US compared to the miserable number of TOTAL CL's sold overall. The CL-S 6spd will be sought after in about a year or so when everybody and their mom has a G35C. Keep your mileage low and the car in good condition... you can't go wrong.
If it matters, after they discontinued the Prelude (due to lack-luster sales), I still got over 42% back on trade in after 5 years and just shy of 60K miles. I would have gotten more like 45%-50% had I not had a quarterpanel replaced a couple years prior.
It's a Honda. Hondas hold their value. Usually.
