Car stumbles and shuts off when warm...
Annoying problem!
When I first start the car in the morning, or any other time the engine is cold,, it starts with no issues.
If I attempt to start the car after the engine is already hot it gives me a crap load of trouble. It will turn over just fine, but when it starts, it sputters and most times just shuts off. The only way I can keep the engine running is to hold down the gas pedal slightly raising the RPM's until the shuttering and stumbling subsides and evens out which usually takes 30secs to a minute.
What would cause this? I already replaced the air filter, ran fuel cleaner, changed plugs and still no dice. I am guessing it is a sensor but not sure which one. I am not getting any CEL's regarding a sensor. The only time I get a CEL is when it reports cylinder misfires due to the engine stumbling.
Any ideas? Could it be the IAC sensor? if so, where is it located and how easy is it to replace myself? Tried searching "IAC" but hard to get results due to only being three letters.
I hope I make sense, i've been up for 28 hrs little out of it...

Inconsistant idle and stalling is sometimes traced to a dirty IACV...
Search for IACV or idle control valve... Also IAC* can be used to get around the 3 character limitation on the search engine...

Thanks for the assist guys, I am going to pull it out and try cleaning it first. So should I just buy carb cleaner and spray a shitload of it inside the holes and let it dry? Any procedure on cleaning the valve? I dont want to screw it up with too much spray. Is this even possible? I dont want to ruin the electronic components on the valve.
I see people have cleaned it successfully, but cant find any DYI instructions on it. I will keep searching in the meantime.

I don't think anyone had written up a DYI yet... you might also want to search over on the TL forum too tho... Maybe someone over there has written one up.

ok thanks, will let you know how I make out. Just makes me crazy that the car only stalls and stumbles when the car is hot/wormed up. When the car is cold it runs beautifully.
