I've been waiting a long time to see one of these in person but I have to say, it just didn't look that good to me on the road.

On a side note I drove the G35 that day and thought it handled wonderfully, with a very smooth tranny. So that being said, I think the G35 coupe and 350Z are going to be very fun to drive.

But as for looks, that Z I saw just looked kind of cheap to me.

To this day the 90's 300 Z is still considered a good looking sporty car, but I think they failed miserably with doing the same in the 2004.Still a nice car for around 30k

Don't worry. I won't forget to wave to my fellow Cl-S'ers when I pass by.

And to whoever said "it's a Nissan". Funny, I think that the VQ series engine that is going in that car and is currently in the new Altima and Maxima is one of the best V6's ever made.

290-300 hp + 3100-3200lbs + 2 seats + rear wheel drive + 6 speed + you don't have one = one big grin on my face!!!

not trying to flame, but let's face it. Find me a NEW car for the price that will equal the performance of the new Z. The styling will grow on you. Remember how many of us said the CL styling was bland???

Exactly. A lot of people like to compare the "bang for the buck" of the CL-S.

In steps the 350Z to steal the show.....

Last thing I heard about the HP of the 350z and G35c was 275. I don't think they were able to get it up to 290 or so. Anyone have a definite answer?

No definite answer, but I've heard (from a very good source) that the final HP rating will be 287. You heard it here first

If 287 the final HP quote than I don't think it will have much better performance than th CL-S 6 sp..... it is a lot lighter though.....will just have to wait and see. But still same speed and performance, around 32k and can seat 4 adults.....seems like the CL-S is still a great car.

The G35 sedan is about the same speed as the CLS. The G35 coupe will have more torque (about 15 ft/lbs) and 20 more hp. It will also be lighter. In terms of performance, the handling will probably be much better than the CLS due to 52/48 weight distribution and RWD.

The 350Z will be even better than the G35 coupe because of its shorter wheelbase making it even more nimble. It will in all likelyhood be about 200 lbs lighter.

I thought about getting a CL-S for a while, but I decided to get the Z instead. What you get for the money is just incredible. It'll have 280+ HP, do 0-60 in about 5.5, have excellent factory aftermarket support, with a supercharger or turbo in the works, real sports car RWD handling, the best V6 in the world, and turn heads everywhere it goes. Plus, there are only 6500 pre orders so it will be fairly unique for a while. It was specifically designed to run with (and beat) a Boxster or Boxster S and will be the fastest Z ever. All this, for about $3000 more than a CL-S. Actually, less if you're willing to forego the "luxury" items. Hopefully, delivery will begin in September. Good luck finding one in a showroom, and it'll be impossible to get a test drive. Hopefully you'll have a friend who preordered so you can see what the car can do.

I'm thinking about driving it to the Acura dealer just to show that PIA what I bought instead.

Well, if you have more power and less weight, I'd have to say that it will definitely have better performance.
