what could this be? i have OBX Headers , Silence Resonator Removed, HKS Draggers Exhaust. makes small poping noises, u can here it very clearly in the car...anyone know what this can be i know it cant be good?

 

Could be a few things:

Pre-ignition in the headers (rich mixture/ raw fuel in the header)

sticking EGR valve, IAT, or emissions control valves

do you have a OBDII code checker, might be able to pin down the error.

 

no i dont have a code checker i think im just going to drop it off at acura

 

Did you change the size of the piping? It could be due to lack of back pressure too. I've heard a few cars pop or gurgle after increasing the pipe size and adding a free flow muffler.

 

what? they are going to just turn you around and send you on your way with those kinds of mods. I too have hks dragger and when the rpm's drop from accelerating ther is a bit of backfire, kinda sounds cool. if its worth the time, go to a local shop and pay $20 to put the stock mufflers back then see what happens.

 

What you hear is normal because of the pre-muffler being removed ( assuming that is what you mean when you say "Silence REsonator Removed"). It should occur when you let off the gas for about 2-3 seconds and sound like a gurgling-sputtering popping. It is not a backfire but resonance of the volume of gas pressure decreasing to idle. Nearly all aftermarket exhausts do this if you remove the pre-silencer or get open mufflers.

 

im thinking maybe the 02 sensor...there's a warning in the comptech instructions not to get anit seze on the sensor...how's your gas milage?

 

ignition timing could be off... computer is supposed to "manage" that, but we all know how reliable computers are.

 

i dont know what ur talking about the dealer sending me on my way ive got my car serviced with all my mods. and they dont tell me shit. there all bolt ons! PLEASE DONT OPEN UR MOUTH IF U DONT KNOW WHAT UR TALKING ABOUT...

i have the same problem too but i kinda like the sound.... sounds simliar to my friend's TT Supra with greddy exhausts....

i have I/E/H and when i put in P and rev it.. my exhuasts has some serious backfire sound

 

 

you sucker, I was talking on my own experience, I once had park ave acura install a simple intake on my car and curry acura ( a different dealer) refused to even attempt to solve an idle problem i was having blaming the possibility on the disassembly of the intake system. guess what, It was the problem and park ave took care of it. Just cuz your sore about your car, doesn't mean you can have an attitude. I'm not even going to take this any further, makes no sence to reason with such a hot head.
