Can you guys help me with my CAI?

I took my bumper off to replace my ballast last night and to clean/recharge my air filter. I had the CAI on my car since like 2002 and 20k miles , I now have 165K miles so it needed some TLC! I bought a rechager kit for $10 and did my thing. I am gonna invest in a new one and a new by-pass valve cuz the foam came of mine and the rubber broke. I took some pics can u tell me if u guys know the model # or what kind it is , I know its K@N!

If I went with a longer wider one would it increase performance?
more area for air to come in = more air comming in, more air comming in = more HP...
Am I right or it will not make a difference if I put a larger cone filter on there?

its good to have a bigger filter to a certain point
if ur FI then having a bigger filter is better. for NA its what the engine can suck, so after a certain point a bigger one is pointless. really.
judging by the size of yours, get the same one a a bit smaller (length wise) if u want.

Check out the K&N website. Last time I was there I was able to type in the dimensions of the filter I wanted and got a part number.

I found it im pretty sure my pipe diameter is 3" I found my exact filter thats 9" but I think im gonna go with a 12" for 3" more of air to come though!

Funny the link to there webdite came up on the bottom of my post so I clicked it.

Do u guys think the 12" long one will be better or should I just stick with the 9" one.

why does everyone think that? lol yes the Icebox does have a conical filter element.

the only "flat" filter is on a stock air intake.

be careful though. the longer the filter, the closer to the ground youll be which increases your chances of sucking up some water a little bit greater. just throwing that in there.

it's a 3" diameter but as mentioned you might have clearance issues with a longer filter. Put the old one back on and see how much extra room you have.
