Can SRT4 spanks CL-S?
Yeah, and it can spank the following other cars to the 1/4-mile as well:
MB E320/500
BMW 330 auto, maybe manual
BMW 530i, 540i auto (maybe)
Maybe it'll run w/ an E36 M3 in a straightline race
Lex IS300, ES, GS300 ..
So what's your point?!?
PS .. how many other forums are you planning on posting to see "if SRT4 can spank ..." .. ?? Why don't you just sell your fleet of vehicles and go buy a few...

Damn.. I was behind a 2.5L Turbo PT Cruiser the other night.. I think it has the same motor setup as the SRT4, and even in a much heavier car, it had very good pickup as I was trying to keep up with it. I'm sure the SRT4 will be a kick ass car.. but at the end of day.. it's still a Neon though..
actually....its not a neon....its not called a neon in any way/shape/ or form...dodge has completely eliminated the Neon name from the vehicle to reduce the use of the exact statement you just said....it is not a neon at the end of the day, its a Dodge SRT-4

Most publications have been getting better times than 5.8 out of it. R&T wrote in its recent test that the SRT is a better built car than the WRX as well.
Dodge has been offering hardcore competition packages and parts since day 1 with the Neon... SCCA contingency money from Mopar... If Neons lack motorsports "image" it's not the car's fault.
The aftermarket is going to be huge for this car. MOPAR will not be the only company making peformance parts. Dodge gave prototypes of this car to a couple of parts companies for the purpose of developing performance parts for it almost a year ago. Turbo XS is already at work on a cast exhaust manifold and piggyback programmable computer, AEM already lists a CAI, KW has coilovers for it, INDY is said to be working on a new intake manifold, Eagle & Crower already make rods, Crane & Crower already sell camshafts, JE & Wiseco sell pistons.
The SRT-4 is built off a proven road racing record, which Dodge definitely has. The Neon is an "amazing" handling car, this cannot be debated.
Give credit where credit is due, the SRT is going to spank lots of cars.

Again this car is blowing away the competition as well as cars in higher brackets WTF. It wouldn't surprise me that this car can go faster than listed simply because they already underrated the HP figures. Could be simply because if this car gets any faster the insurance rates are going to skyrocket hence killing its selling strong point.

Out of the box the SRT does .85 on the skidpad with the skinny 17s that it comes with.....put on some bigger wheels/autocross tires (like 17x7.5 +40 with a 225/45-17), I'll bet this car will pull close to 1.0G on the skidpad- whatever it is, it will be in rare territory (which is amazing given its low cost).
I should say that I wouldn't expect anyone to ditch a comfortable quick primary car for an SRT-4, that's silly. But the SRT would make a fun 2nd car.

The SRT4 is a sweet car as far as the engine goes and sure to be a screamer on the road. I don't care what anyone says...it looks like a Neon to me. If Dodge wants to distance itself from the Neon name, it had better change the Neon looks.

For 20k, this is the car to have IMO.

i think the whole 16 year old thing was a generalization. The first time i took a grand prix out for a test drive and floored it at 20 mph, i almost shat my pants when the tourqe steer came into effect. I got used to it on my new acura and now can coap, but i think hes saying that there are a ton of drivers, maby not you and me, but a lot (and you cant deny) that suck so much at stick and driving in general, and just wanna be fast and furious style, that they wont be able to replicate those numbers at all. Some kids probably try to do a fast start and stall a few times before they get a decent start. Anyway, im not sure if i could drive a dodge...doesn't feel as solid + reliable IMO. If i would get that i would save a little more and get a WRX. Even though its slower, AWD and some other features makes it worth it.

No 40 year-old is going to buy it , maybe 30 and under . Remember it's still a sport compact car that probably aint that roomy or stylish . You don't see any middle aged folks driving type-r integras or celica gt-s' . This car is not in the same class as a Cl-S , or the IS300 or 330ci or any of the cars mentioned . Fact is , it's lower sport class racing , just like the type-r . The Cl-S is a luxury coupe that happens to be very quick . Acura wasn't trying to make a racing car , just compete with it's rivals . And were winning!!!. Not that many cars out there can touch a Cl-S or Tl-S , and I certainlly am NOT gonna feel bad that some steriod pumped Neon can take me by one or two car lengths . Who give a shit . Just like mentioned above IT'S STILL A DODGE . How you gonna pimp it to a girl like , hey baby , I got me a Dodge SRT-4 . All she heard was DODGE . And trust me , they ain't gonna give a shit that you can smoke that beautiful Acura , Lexus , BMW , etc... right next to her . This is a kids vehicle no matter how you look at it and you can bet your ass that not many will be impressed . And I'll take you on that $10 bet that you can drive as good as the M/T and Road and Track drivers . Becoming a good driver takes experience , not from the 15 races in the past 6 months that you've had a license .

Hey a Viper is still a Dodge, that's what it sais on the rear bumper......the car is a whore gold digging magnet.
I do agree though, this car is not marketed toward 40yr olds. All Dodge needs is 5,000 people a year to buy the car and I don't think they'll have a problem doing just that.

I like it a lot... that would be such an awesome 2nd/project car. I agree with 1SICKLEX... for $20k... this is the car to have. 5.8sec 0-60 and very low 14's out of the box.... yummy.
Don't know about anybody else, but I don't buy cars on the premise of what dumb bimbos think.......that's just me.

Still love my CL-S...not giving it up for the SRT4 or the WRX. They are overpowered econo-boxes.

Have you been reading the reviews on these cars? They are more than just overpowered econo boxes. Their performance equals or exceeds cars costing twice as much (not just speed, handling as well).
So, they don't have lether seats and a sunroof......these are small, fairly inexpensive, pocket rockets that can be made blistering fast for a very reasonable amount of money.
Just wait until the Evo and STi get here, call them what you want.....they are going to rip lots of cars a new A-hole.
Who said for you to trade in your CL for one? These cars are fun rides that would make excellent 2nd cars, for autocrossing/racing etc.
I pasased by the Econo Mutsi Dealer he said he is getting 2 EVO... 1 red is still avail... no spec, no prices no options list..just put down a deposit...
He said it would be $30K to $35k depending on the options
More dough than a CLS....!!!
