Can I use the tranny oil jet hose to...
03 CL-S dealer did the transmission oil jet mod, and as we all know there is a short piece of hose that comes up from below and goes to the jet in the filler hole. My question is can I tee off of that hose to go to a tranny cooler? I checked my VIN and unfortunately I am in the unlucky group. I know it's covered to 100K miles but I want a cooler anyway. Thanks.

If you're installing a tranny cooler, cut into the line in front of the oil jet. The cooler needs to be in series to be effective - not using a tee fitting.

Ok I really meant to say can I re-route the line going to the oil jet TO the cooler and then hook the return line to the oil jet itself thus making a completed circle with cooled fluid?

I just got my 3rd notice to have the oil jet installed. I'm nervous to let them touch my car since this 1st tranny has made it 84k miles...if it ain't broken, don't fix it. If the tranny does go and I haven't had the jet installed do you think they may refuse to fix it under warranty?

Another way to look at it is that you have 16K miles to go to get your tranny to fail so you can get a fresh one. Sounds like some have pushed for a 5th generation tranny that has the necessary upgrades. My guess is that the oil jet accelerates the inevitable.
