Can I switch to synthetic at 40k??

Can I switch to synthetic at 40k??

Is it bad for my engine to switch or should i just stay with regular?

Also what type should i start using.

It won't hurt. Just stick to synth once you switch.
Check for leaks a while after the switch because of the smaller particles.
I switched to synth from regular at 72k miles on my last carand it went well over twice that before I traded it in for the CL-S

Higher protectiong against engine wear, it can outlast dino oil 3,000 vs. 7,000 or 10,000. Increased gas mileage. I knew someone who gained 2 miles to the gallon when they switched over. 2 mpg is ALOT. Longer lasting oil means, you have have to do oil changes twice as less.

The only disadvantage is the higher price you pay. But its well worth it.

I only use Mobil1 in mine and I have over 259k on it 10w30
