NO….It’s not what you think, I’m talking about SPRINGS.

A guy I work with has a late model Mustang GT with aftermarket springs.
I don’t remember the brand, but they only lower the car about 1/2 to 3/4 inch.
He said you get almost all the benefits of STIFFER springs without the worry of bottoming out on every speed bump or steep driveway.

Opinions ????
Is there something like this available for the CL-S ???

Shawn, shut up already.

Stop bein a bitch.

The comptechs only drop the car to what it should be stock. It still remains higher then most BMW's or any other sporty car for that matter.

I still take the speed bumps on my street at 65mph and no bottoming out

Springs on our car are COMPLETELY useless if the dont drop it. Why do you want the 4x4 look?

I live in NY... where curbs are 16" high and I still clear them

So stop bein a baby like I was for so long and just get them already. And you dont need to whine to park ave about installing them... just go to a local speed shop or something.

Thats what I did and my install was $100 cheaper then it would have been at any dealer... even PAA.

JUST DO IT!

The H&R and Comptechs drop you about an inch. I have the Comptechs and was worried about it being too low. I've never bottomed out on anything and I don't even worry about it anymore. It's like the car is at stock height.

I've also heard that you can actually lower the car with the Koni shocks? Not sure how that would work though.

Do NOT go with the Eibachs. They are nearly a 2 inch drop as opposed to just 1 inch with H&R and Comptech.

There's 3 versions of the H&R springs: the OE, Sports, and Racing....the OE's will offer the least amount of drop while the racing version will offer the most.

Yeah, I was worried about how much ground clearance I would have too, which is why I didn't get the Pro-Kit, but I haven't had any problems so far. I've only had them in since Friday, but I've taken the car a couple places and tested for clearance problems and everything seems fine up to now. The drop isn't that low. I'm even thinking about lowering it a bit more when I get Konis since they have an adjustable perch. From what Koni told me, the shocks allow for a further drop of approximately 0.5" front / 0.25" rear, I don't have the exact numbers because I lost their E-mail.

I'm pretty sure the differences in the amount they lower your car are listed on autocarparts.com.

WOW.....Who pissed in Soopa’s cornflakes?

Thanks for all the opinions & recommendations. (Most of them anyway )
The spring MOD won’t be for this car, but it MAY happen on the 6-Speed if/when I get it.

If you don't want to lower too much and still want a little stiffness. Buy the Konis..and there is an adjustable perch. Set this perch lower for your stock springs and set the Konis to full, then twist a little less than a 1/4 turn back..that way you don't blow up your Konis.
