Can a 6speed type-S trans work on a base CL engine ?

It would bolt up, but would only run in limp mode. The 6 speed ECU needs to see 2 crank triggers. The engine/trans harness is also different, plus a bunch of other engine parts to make a 6speed work properly. There was a parts list on here somewhere. I dont ever recall anyone with a base attempting that swap either...

If he did the 'swap' on the thread below, he should know exactly what is involved.

The answer is both yes and no. Which 6-Speed Type-S transmission are you talking about? If from a CL Type-S, then for the most part, yes (within the parameters referenced above), however, from a TL Type-S, then more or less, no as you'd need to source a different bellhousing to make it work.

The engine and trans is from a cl type - s. was just curious. So its looks like I'll have to swap the motor and trans together in which I have. The type -s engine harness, ECU, shifter box, clutch pedal assembly. Now The dash harness and type-s speedo cluster should be the remaining pieces to buy? I heard from this site that the axles are the same, from base and types-S. Correct me if im wrong.
