05 tl Base Trans issue

About a month ago I drove 3 hours away. I noticed when in Cruze at highway speed the transmission overheats After a while. If you keep driving it will all boil out the vent. Yes I know the infamous tl trans is junk. But previous owner had it rebuild 15k ago. The fluid no matter me flushing it is extremely burn. So what are my options. From a technicians stand point. It’s not worth rebuilding. What trans will work. I was told newer accord trans is the upgrade. Is this true ? How about the 07/08 tls? Thanks in advance -Tyler

The transmission from a 2007-2008 (regardless of whether it is from a base TL or from a TL Type-S) is much improved, however, it will not bolt into your car. The prevailing wisdom says to buy the transmission from a 2006-2007 Honda Accord V6, often referred to as either an AV6 or a BAYA transmission, and use that.
