i know allmotor brought this up before but this is something we really need to go after...i just read the road and track on the 350 and a jim wolf car went 13.8@104 this was the same speed as the super charged cars....cams were the main ingrediant...

I spoke to allmotor about this. I found this place in Riverside, CA (www.webcamshafts.com) that would re-grind cams for us for $540 or billet ones for $620. However, they need both of them to create a profile for us. I don't have the skills to uninstall/install the cams myself, so I was either going to buy a new set and send it to them or if allmotor can send in his.

I think this mod would be awesome with a re-programmed ECU or VAFC II.

yeap! look at the kits which are available for RSXs......cam gears, cams etc., increaese that duration and lift will net more power. Hence you have all motor K20s putting down 220WHP. As with most honda engines i think j32a2 must be built pretty conservatively.....good amount of power left to tap.

I think cams will put us in the 106mph range... 104 might be attainable without.

I just haven't had time... but will look into this after I run my car.

With a very conservative grind... 10-12whp is attainable - I don't want to have to change valve-springs and put Ti retainers etc.

my car hit's so hard at 5K im thinking the extra stroke is starving for air and finally gets it at the vtec change over...i can acctually roll out sometimes and be going wot then break them loose at 5K ....for me im just trying to find away to make vtec change at like 4 - 4.2K

It's very easy to make a VTEC activation switch... RPM switch and a relay (source 5V at each solenoid). The computer also uses a oil pressure switch to make sure there is ample oil-pressure before activation VTEC, but that isn't necessary.

Don't you have to adjust the fuel mixture if you lower your vtec to 4k?

Easiest way is an MSD RPM switch. You can use a relay if you want or wire to the switch directly.... more elegant with a relay. Apply 5V to each VTEC solenoid from the switch output (selectable RPM)

I think the difference from the high-cam will outweigh the slight maladjustment of the fuel-mixture... plus that MIGHT be like 3-4whp in the 4K to 5K range... no impact.

No... you can't eliminate the rev-limit. That's tougher... you have to emulate 7K RPMs while the engine is actually at 8K RPMs... not easy and it will screw up the signal to the ECU.
