Calling all '03 CL-S 6 Speed Owners!
How do you guys like your '03 CL-S six speed? Any gripes or complaints? Considering getting one but don't know what I'm getting into. Also, from the posts on the '03 Accords...sounds like there will no longer be a place for the CL. I wonder what Honda's thinking was?

Where is my super sauce?
Do a search - there are a number of comprehensive reviews on the six speed.
I love this car. It's a nice cross-breed -- a true luxury sports coupe. The six speed manual transmission adds some control and aggressiveness. The clutch is nice and tight, but easy to get used to. The shifter has a nice short throw. Good gear ratios. The appointments are quality for the price range. The OnStar/Navi/Radio integration is fantastic.
Personally, I've never owned a automatic car and wouldn't have seriously considered the CL-S without the stick.
The gripes/complaints for the manual are no different from previous 2nd generation CL's. They seemed to have fixed some minor things (like the rattles - see Shawn S post).
As to comparisons with a new Accord - the Accord will always be an Accord. It's not a luxury car - I don't care what engine/tranny you put in it, it is not in the same class as the Acura line.
And yes, it's been heavily rumored that the CL line will end next year, and Acura has outright said that only 2700 manual transmission CL-S's will be made.

I love mine more and more everyday I drive it. Now I am really getting use to the limited slip and learning how to really exploit it in the turns. It is amazing and takes a little getting use to when you feel the car pulling its self through a turn when a little extra throttle is applied.

So no '04 6spd ?? (or any '04's for that matter?)

Is the CL-S really worth it?
Yup, sounds like you all love your 6 speed. My '98 GSR was wrecked and I need to find something fast. I'm still trying to see if anyone has had any problems with their '03 model CL or CL-S, particularly the 6-speed. I love cars and am weighting my option of getting the fun car, or the Accord EX-V6 which everyone has, but they are discounting those like crazy. Definitely, the CL-S needs the spoiler though...that will run me another $800 from the dealer...
Any tranny problems reported with the 6-speed? How about paint chipping? Or moonroof squeaks?

I had a 96 GSR that I totald as well...a dodge ram smashed into the side of it going about 50...I have pics at home. The paint on the CL is the same...so so. The moonroof still squeaks but is fixable...and thats about all the problems...my actuator went out but thats easy to get fixed as well...so nothing major yet...I have 5600 on it.

One more owner who loves his 6-sp.
I had a problem with the tranny popping out of first, of which the car seems to have corrected itself. (see this article).
I also had some paint peeling off the front grill where it meets the hood. It was caused by the grill being at a slight angle when installed. Acura replaced the whole grill assy. under warranty.
Even something like the first gear pop-out did not detract from how much I enjoy looking at and driving the car.

I love mine. Fast. Comfotable.
I've had two problems:
1) Defective wheel with a pinhole leak from day one. That was a pain in the ass to try to get Acura to replace. It was a real slow leak.
2) Memory seat broke on the first day.
Otherwise great car. Big bang for the buck

Welcome! I also switch from the 5spd to the stick. Honestly this is the first M/T i have ever owned! it was very easy to get used to. I already knew how to drive stick, just not everyday. The trans is great, and the LSD really helps around slow corners. You can feel it working all the time!
