Caliper paint??

Anybody ever paint their calipers? What is the best brand to use and where do you get it? Any problems or anything to waich out for during the process? Did you take the whole caliper off or painted it while it was on the car?

Just get one of the name brand paints from Kragen or wherver and paint it, high temp paint is all you need, unless you wanna actually pay money for the "brake caliper paint". You need to sand down your calipers to make it smooth...some primer will make the paint stay on longer too. Spray and let dry...add coats as needed.

There is a member whose screen nick was something like M3sins or such. He posted some useful info on painting calipers a while back.

He's using another nick now and I cannot remember it.

And you REALLY think that makes your CL-S brake BETTER? I don't get you guyz. Are we in freakin' high school shop or what?

Seriously, you did a beautiful job. It's just not the classy look I think of for our Acura CL-S. But NOW you're going to have to put in the new Comptech Supercharger to justify the aggressive paint job on your calipers.

I saw a black cl-s also with red painted calipers. didn't like them at all.

The problem with the stock calipers is they rust, and it looks like crap. I am painting mine silver this weekend, I think its called 'aluminum' on the can.

I was going to wire-brush-on-the-drill them to remove rust & smooth them out. Then tape and spray away!

Carstyling.com is the best i ve found in 20 years. It is a 2 part EPOXY paint that dries like powder coat.
