Blurb from R&T ---
America’s most beloved sports car is changing. But don’t worry; the new C6 is still very much a Vette. Among the car’s most eye-catching new styling features are the taller, sharply creased front fenders that taper down to the new fixed headlights (the pop-ups are now gone), and the tapered rear glass. Inside, the 2005 Corvette’s interior reaches new heights of style and sophistication. And with 50 more horsepower, 25 lb.-ft. more torque and a front/rear weight distribution of 51/49, the new 2005 Corvette should be the most fun-to-drive yet. But those changes are just the tip of the iceberg, so be sure to read the February 2004 cover story by our Detroit Editor Matt DeLorenzo and enjoy these outstanding photos by Guy Spangenberg.

kinda neat... , but it's a C5 with different headlights and some minor body work.
I guess the old look of the stingray will never come back.
Be cool to see it in person at the auto show Maybe the new lines will stand out more then.

The C6 should be a fine replacement for where the C5 left off.
What's also nice is that for those in the market for the C6 won't come up against the same demand that followed with the C5.
Few reasons, when the C4 went to the C5 it was a revolutionary change.....everybody wanted in.
The C5 to the C6 isn't as crazy of a change (not everyone is going to upgrade), combine that with a sketchy economic climate....they'll be discounted C6s soon after introduction.
Back in 99, I paid MSRP for the C5 and waited 6 months for a 6spd (they were on constraint and the GM strike started). When I ordered my car, in stock 6spds were selling for over MSRP....2 model years after the C5 was introduced!!!.
Let's just say that won't be the case with the C6.
My Vette salesman still works at the dealer (huge Vette dealer)....driving a C6 when it comes out won't be an issue.

Friggin' V6 might be a 3.5 or 3.8 liter... I hope 375hp!

I think it was about time Chevy changed the headlights, they should have been bombed for not doing it years ago. And the reason for the 4speed auto, maybe they don't want to replace the transmissions like Honda has with their 5 speed autos.
I think it was C & D tv that said they would suggest the auto in the 2003 Anniversary edition as opposed to the 6, not sure why.

My impressions.....I have always thought about getting a Vette someday, but I don't care for this one.......the look is too fabricated for me and takes away from its historic bold character in its agressive lines and styling.........I think the front end looks a bit cheap in comparison to the 2003 model C5........retractable headlights is a benchmark for the vette and should not have been replaced.......the new one tries to look a bit "import" but fails due to the fog lamp and nose position which just does not fit well with the angular lines and body of this vette (take a close look).........I guess if I want still want one, I would probably go for a used ZO6. The body style is much more pleasing and muscle care agressive! Just my thoughts.

yeah it does a bit......the one thing I really think it misses is the "expensive look/classy sports car look" that the C5 has versus this one. The front and back angular lines have "cheapened" the look in my impression......hey, but to each his own.

Love the new headlights.
Overall the car looks great. Can see a considerable amount of plastic on the inside however.
