C4 Corvette kill! :)

I didnt see a kills section on the board so i thought i would just post it here!
That and i have a couple questions, should a stock 01 cl type s be able to pull HARD on a C4 corvette??

i was on my way home last night (around 4 am down the 15 freeway) the freeway was empty and a C4 corvette comes up and starts tryin to race, i have no clue what he was thinking, but i havent had a kill in my car yet so i thought sure ill go for it. put the car in SS pull it down to 3rd, and i run away from him! I loved it, we did it a few more times and each time was the same result i pulled pretty hard.

Does ths sound right for a stock CLS??

That doesnt sound quite right, i have driven a 95 trans am and at highway speed, when you floor it, there is no looking back. And a corvette has even more power than the TA.

Oh and there is a kill section --Racing stories

CL pulls pretty hard on the freeway too though!

1990 corvette specs
5.7L
245 HP
345 lbs/ft
3255 lbs

That is a lot of torque to throw around.

A lot is going to depend on the year...an 87 is way slower than say, a 91...

An 83 s/b an easy kill for the CLS...

The oil Pressure feed line to the Turbo self destructed at full boost around 6000 RPM, and dumped 4.5 quarts out of 5.25 that the engine holds out onto the freeway. Destroyed the turbo, pistons, rings, bearings, for some reason it even cracked 2 pistsons!

i have to rebuild the entire motor, including buying a new turbo kit,

Turbo kit = 7000
Factory Short Block=2300
Head rebuild= 3600

u can see how it adds up not including oil pump, water pump, all the parts that are screwed and those that were just in need of being replaced!
pretty much the car is sitting in the garage on 4 jackstands, no head, just a pretty bare block!

sucks dont it?
but when she comes back hot damn!

How much are you putting RWHP dyno on your Single turbo Supra? Do you have the T66 single turbo?

No i was a T78 Greddy kit, im going to probably have a custom twin T3/T04E turbo setup built, and im shooting for 650 RWHP to the ground on pump gas, and 950-1000 on race gas!
(alchol injection for cooling and a few other major mods! )

when it blew it was doin over 500 RWHP but i hadnt put my fuel system in and bumped the boost yet!

What are talking about, how is alot of torque not good? i would pay bundle if i could have and extra 100 pounds of torque even if i only got 5 hp out of it.

Wow, why does everyone with a CL Type S always has something fast in the garage. I use my CLS as my daily driver. I'm going TO4S in my car too.
