Well i guess i finally had enough with the wierd creaks and squeaks with my CL-S and its good days and bad days... lights winking out and then back on.. dealers saying there is no problem situations.
Dont get me wrong, i love my CL but this is just tiring ... and on top of that my CL only has 13200 miles and its down from 32k to 21k in value.
oh well you live and learn.

I take delivery of my Mercedes Benz C 320 with Command and Voice controlled Phone and Audio package this Saturday, and i guess i will miss my CL but i will miss you turds even more..

I will post some pics if anyone wants to see.. maybe even troll your meets sometime..

comparing the sticker ("retail") price of a new car to the trade-in ("wholesale") price of the same car in used condition is depressing, but not exactly sound financial reasoning.

(there is generally a 20% difference in wholesale vs. retail pricing, and the 2001 model year for the cl lasted 18 months, which will be negatively reflected in the price that all 2001 versions of the car can command on the open market.)

nevertheless, congratulations on your new mercedes...

Contrats on the Mercedes; you'll love it. Hey, you don't have to leave the board just cause you don't have the Acura anymore.

I'm thinking of trading for a Toyota Tundra, and I'd still come on the board to visit.

Wow... sorry to see you go!! I love Mercedes Benz's, especially the C-32. What's funny is my fiance's aunt has a 2002 CLK-320 (I think is a 2k2). I was talking to her about how I love those cars and I'd like my next car to be that, etc... and she was like don't get a Mercedes. They've had nothing but problems with it... electrical, tranny, etc. The car is like 6 months old and has been in 4 times. I was surprised. I'm sure that's not with all C series, but it kind of shocked me. I guess the point is that all cars have their problems, so enjoy what you've got!! For you, that's a new C class!!

Good luck.

I have heard of some problems with the C coupe and some CLKs... however most of those issues have been addressed with the new CLK and the 2003 coupe.. hope MB keeps their word on that

Heh, I'm still hanging out here months after I decided against the CL-S. Go figure.

i'd find their board first, and see if they are having probs ... what you should pay, etc.

M-B C class? You think you got problems now??:P

My bro works for MB USA and he says those cars are absolutely plagued with electrical problems.

But good luck with yours, anyway.

actually i think the current c-platform is the reason that pulled mercedes down recently in quality. they are WAY down.

I've heard that about the C class from more than one source--that they've compromised quality to compete on the price level.

My oldman has a 00 S500 (first year of the new W220 body)......some of the interior parts/materials are kind of weak, but overall its been basically perfect reliability wise (A/C did break once though).

So, he is giving Benz another shot and getting a 2003 E500 Sport.

Congrats on the C320, it will be nice....and even if it has some issues (can't be any worse than the CL).

our '00 s500 has no problems (yet), but our '94 sl500 and '91 560sel are electronic nightmares. the '94 right before and after the warranty expired. the quality and fit/finish is good though, and probably the same with the E-class, but remember when you go to the E-class and up you are paying at least twice as much as a C-class.
