Buying used cars online

Hey, I was just wondering. How many people here would buy cars online, particularily off of ebay?

Or if you have, what was your experience?

buying used cars in person is risky enough! I would NEVER buy a used car online. Seems silly!

I used autotrader to find mine then i went to check it out and buy it. Otherwise it would have taken me forever to find a good cl.

I personally wouldn't buy a car without seeing it/driving it in person first. If your talking about buying a $500 fixer-up/parts car, then that's a different story.

i found my car on ebay and called them (it was about 3 1/2 hrs from me) and told them i would be down to see it the day after next and bought it! the only reason i was so desperate is because i wanted a specific color of cl and i definately wanted a 5-speed with dark gray or black leather...so it was a challenge to find my car....

I would tend to agree with the rest of the posts on this subject. It is always best to see what you are spending your cash for before you buy it.

It may be useful to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle you are considering buying to find any problems that are not easily detected by the average person.

Re: Buying used cars online

I bought My CL-S from a User on this Board, if that Counts. I made numerous phone calls, not to mention emails to the seller, reasearched all his posts so I knew his car, and any issues, not to mention his and others opinions' on the Car. I actually FLEW from Northern Georgia to Ft. Lauderdale to Pick it up. No $$ was exchanged till I drove it, went to his dealer had service records checked out, and got a feel for Him and his Car.

I was VERY Pleased. I'm Still a VERY happy, Proud Acura Owner.
