Buying a new car

I decided that i am going to get rid of my CLS pretty soon. I love my car but i think it's time for somethin new. I am considering an SUV or a Sedan. The highest I would like to go is 35-40k. I like the Audi S4, RX300 or maybe an Escalade but i know they get expensive. I am also looking for something AWD. Any ideas on what car or truck i should look into getting? Anything up and coming in the next month? Thanks for the help

I am with you man, only that I have only driven my CLS for around 8 months and bored of it already. I want to get a convertible of some sort. Miatas and Del Sols I wouldn't mind. But what I want to get is an SLK320 or Z3 3.0i. If my dad wouldn't get me a new one, I guess I'll be taking his 330Ci and I'll let him deal with my CLS, sale, trade, drive, whatever he wants to do i guess.

Either one is nice, but the A4 surprised me at the car show i went to. My first reaction was "what is that?", I went up to take alook and discovered it was the new A4 conv. Very nice car indeed.

The MDX and RX300 are a snore, you're bored of a CL-S already.....try having an SUV for the summer, that will be lots of fun.

Get a nice 2-4 door with a manual, somewhat quick to keep you amused.....AWD huh, Audi basically.

Im not bored of my CLS, i just really want a truck, i always have. I plan on hooking it up. I just wanted something i could hookup and i think trucks are awesome. Id like to get 20-22's, nice sound system, airbag suspension. I can't make up my mind though. I would still get a car if i feel in love with it. Im open to all AWD suggestions whether it be a truck or car. Navigation is a must to preferrably touch screen

If i ain't getting conv. for my next car. I would like to give the Benz G500 or the cute little A190. Or how about a Mini that is modded by Hamman, AC, or Racing Dynamic?

How about a STV lighting? or a WRX Wagen? with the extra money left...mod the hell out of them.

I would get a S4 or S2000 if i have the same budget like you

Yes, I would consider the WRX wagon. I would take the new gen wagon over the new gen sedan. But if it was the gen before the round lights, i would take the 4 door as my first choice then the coupe, then the wagon. What I really want is a convertible. Perferably a SLK320 or Z3.0i.

Just remember the "grass is always greener on the other side" syndrome. If you can afford more car, go for it. I'm as critical a driver as just about anyone but when you really get down to the "bang for the buck" its hard to improve upon our cars. I've test driven BMW's, Audi's, Mercedes, Jaguars, Infinity's and Lexus's but when you really get down to the $$$ there is just so much more you can do with the money (that you would have spent on a more expensive car). But hey, that's just me.

Here's my soapbox: If you're relying on mom and dad to buy you your cars and your bored with them so quickly then that tells me that you have no appreciation for them (AKA: you're spoiled). Try buying it, paying for it and paying for the maintenace all by yourself and see how much you like your car.

I cant totally agree with you there because certain cars like 5 series bimmers and S class or CLKs benzes are worth that extra dough if you can swing it. There is a big difference between a CLS and a 3 or a 5 bimmer, just even in the quality of the ride and handling.
As far as the soapbox, I think Marc is picking up the cost himself so no need to jump on his case

Escalade all the way, I love those things, and buy it used, dont even bother trying to get it brand new because their value drops so fast. Try looking for an 02 because they have been out for a year already. I am sure there should be plenty of them out.

You can slam some 22s on that thing and just pimp.

Thanks for tellin him before i had to I am picking up the cost on the car. No need to assume my dad is paying for it Sundance Gold.

Johnny, I want an Audi S4 but they are waayyy to small and im definately getting an Auto. I would hate driving stick day in and day out. I figure it would be wasteto get an Auto S4. I think i am definately going for a truck. Does Cadillac offer the Navigation System? Im sure there are plenty of 02's out there and they are pimp ass trucks. I think i made up my mind....:P What about the Shaq Expedition? Is that out?

I am getting a new car within a year also(may be it's just "thinking"), I would go for the cars in $20-$30k price range, so probably the new Accord if it looks good and has better features.

I would recommend you to get a Audi S4 when it comes out, if not, then get the A4 3.0 quattro.

LoL, although I have different reasons I'm looking at a new M-roadster.

Must be some sorta disease going around.

:-)

oh, ya but I guess I own my car, and I have to buy the new one... heh, sometimes I wish I was back at home (for about a nano second). But my parents would have *NEVER* bought me 30k+ car anyway!

heh, more power to ya...

Sorry you have to drive the 330i around! lol!! :P ya right! I wish I had your problems.

Ive pretty much made up my mind. I am going to look into a 2002-2003 Cadillac Escalade. If the Escalade doesn't work out then i will keep my car for awhile longer.

Just so you guys know, I bought a brand new chevy tahoe 2dr sport edition in 1999. 3 months later the paint was coming off the car in up to 4" by 2" inch long strips all around the sides, the bed (trunk floor or whatever you call it) was already rusting and coming through the carpet. Oh, and the entire underneath of the truck was rust covered (but I was told that is 'normal'). All GM would do is patch it up each time it happened(it kept peeling all over), and never once did I get a 'sorry that happened' or even surprise that it happened..from anyone(dealer and corporate).

Almost 2 yrs later and after countless trips to dealers, paintshops, and law offices, GM settled with me and gave me a check for 8k, but wouldnt buy back the truck. I ended up getting the thing really dirty and trading it to an unsuspecting acura dealer who apparently didnt inspect it all that well..now I have my cls with 3k miles and on its second tranny...Do I have bad luck? Possibly, but figured you guys should know about my experience with my GM truck. At least acura handled the situation well and didnt get totally defensive/stonewalling about the situation. Anyway, good luck with your next car whatever it may be.
