Busted IMRC / Exhaust Leak??

posted my dyno up, but here it is again, i have a big drop in torque
dyno graph

one other thing, i picked up my headers used, and ever since i got them, ive had them tightened multiple times, but i think my flex pipe might have a leak, i wouldnt think a minor exhaust leak noticeable only to me could cause a major drop in torque...

any gurus wanna help?

is this the IMRC?

Thats the IMRC.

As for an exhaust leak, some shops have "sniffers" that will be able to tell if there is an exhaust leak for you.

double and triple checked it, that knob on the end is not rotating, i'm revving the engine from the bay till it hits the limiter, no movement. thanks to the dyno and more importantly this forum.

took mine apart to find broken teeth

went to acura today to order, here is the strange thing, the part number changed from 17151PFWJ01 to 17151PFWJ02, maybe they changed something about it so it won't fail as often?

notice how the gear has a stopper on both sides i took one off and used it as a shim to toggle the gear away from the broken teeth

yea, the teeth were broken and also the white plastic that sits in the channel to allow it to move only a small amount was broken. i got the part yesterday and swapped it in. it's working now but i dont feel much difference. i feel it more in vtec than anything, and 3rd gear from 70-85. but besides a TINY audible difference, i do not notice much. going to a dyno again this week after i get my 6speed intake kit from comptech to see results.

your broken IMRC was really only affecting your hi rpms...it changes over at 3800 and at 4800 vtec occurs

yea, this thing pulls nice through vtec now, not a WOW, but for a tuner as myself i can notice it. i think i will dyno tomorrow to get numbers with a working actuator, then dyno again with my VSA removed to give everyone an idea of what/if the difference may be.
