Bunch of Warning lights.

I disconected the battery to do some interior mods... and when I reconnected it my VSA light was on and also m check engine light. My check engine light is on because I need to replace my TPS sensor but why the hell would my VSA light be turned on all of a sudden? anything bad I should worry about or any clue on what it may be and how to fix it. Also Should I buy a TPS sensor and replace it myself as aposed to bringing it to the dealer? The voltage is just reading low. Thanks for the help.

VSA light might just be an old code saved in the computer. Did you ever have the OPDS replaced in the seats? There's a good writeup on how to reset it using paper clips, but I don't have the link.

If the OPDS was never replaced, I'd suggest taking the car into a dealer and getting SRS code checked out. If it is in fact the OPDS, it's covered under waranty. Either way, it's $80 to check the code, and you'll have the peace of mind of knowing the what the problem was.

Why did you remove your airbags?

When I saw the VSA light on my CL come on, it was followed by a violent downshift from 5th to 2nd. And a trip in to the dealer for a new tranny once the VSA was on and the CEL was on.

I removed the airbag on the steering wheel becasue I was getting it wrapped in new leather. In order to make it look right the airbag needed to come off in order to make the leather reach throught the cracks between the airbag and the actual wheel.

The VSA light can come on during all sorts of trouble codes. I have no clue why but it happens frequently. My primary O2 sensor went bad and the CEL, VSA, and ! lights were all on.

A regular OBD-II scanner won't give you info on the SRS light. Possibly the more expensive ones. Autopart stores can't check SRS lights.

You're the only one to mention an SRS light. He said his VSA light was on.
