Bumpy freeway and Cruising

Hey all!

I've noticed on my recent longer trips that when i hit a harder bump in the road, my cruise control stops.

Where should I start looking for loose stuff?

Thanks in advance!

Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. That also controls the cruise. What might be happening is that when you hit that bump, the pedal might travel a little bit and cause the switch to close the circuit and shut off the cc.

mine does that too, but i thought it was a safety feature incase you fell asleep on cruise control and went off the road where its bumpy it automatically shuts off.

yeah I've never been in a car where that happens including my cl on several 7 hour road trips. Probably not a bad idea for a safety feature though

Happens to me every now and then. I try to avoid those bumps as much as I can, though.

Yep, it's usually a bump that slams the upper control arm up into the fender well. It freaks out who ever is in the car.

Are you lowered (I'll assume yes). cause that might contribute to the extra bumpiness causing issues. I haven't made a road trip yet since she's been dropped, but i imagine it might have an effect.

ha gaping yeah if i hit a bump and that shit slams the passengers freak while I die a little inside.

I knew I could count on you guys.

No, i'm not lowered, but will be soon. Hopefully on RonJon's.

The bumps that typically disengaged the cruise were the 100mph road to overcrossing or pavement transitions on I5. Under 80-85 mph it wasn't a problem.

I'll start with the pedal -THANKS!
