K so last year I had the same thing happen. Where the rear sway bar mounts to the suspension it's a 20$ bracket.... well today I swapped on my winters and i think it was soo weak that in the process of jacking on side up i heard a sound. and found the end link ripped through the bracket again.

I heard a few knocks in the suspension but thought nothing of it. but now I know why..

so I ordered 2 for the broken side and one for the side that's still OK.

But I wanna know why this is happening?


when I switch to coilovers I think the drop will decrease all the sway the bar needs to handle and save the mounts from tearing out again... but for now.

I have ordered the brackets again and will replace on monday when I get them and then adjust the bar to the softer setting (whereas now it's on the stiffest setting).

Any thoughts fellas?

Are you talking about the sway bar link? I have had a couple of those go and the dealer indicated there were some lots with bad welds.

wellll it looks like I need to buy a set of new ones and get them REINFORCED then!!! since this is just going to keep on happening as it seems.

I will post the results when The new ones from acura are reienforced...

going to out a huge metal sleeve around the top of the bracket where it RIPS out to gain some rigidity so it doesn't just shear right off for the 3rd time.

both times it was the passenger side.... weird.

awww well suspension is being FULLY re-do come spring so these are just the icing on the cake.
