I would say stopping distances are decreased by about 40+%

40%? Can you do a Gtec and have someone with a TLS compare it to stock?
40% sounds a little extreme there Astro - you sure you haven't been when you did that?

so I have these...
They do stop the car somewhat in a shorter distance... but I really question the value of the kit...
It's 2.5 grand. I stopped much better when I had the racing pad but I threw hella dust and burned through rotors fairly quickly.
I have since replaced the rotors 650 bucks.. and a new set of pads (hawk)... $175.
So the overall Cost of ownership is really high... But if you want to look baller.. I would say get them... and if you can extra cash out there... why not...
but I would say slot ACP brakes, stainless steel brake lines, and metal master pad should be more than enough for daily driving...
if you are auto crossing or track racing I really would consider the brembos with slotted rotors and racing pads...
For the street, Brembos are more of a look than anything.
Also there is associated other costs like rims/tires to get when you upgrade to the Brembos... Not many wheels can clear the big brembo calipers...

I was talking to Jeff about my new idea for some late night tests.
Since one of my friends is the local Park Ranger/Cop at Candlestick on the weekend graveyard shifts, I might try and set up some 60-0 testing. Hopefully, this will allow us to see what different things do to the braking of the car. We have 4 cars to test with
bobowah: Brembo big brake, ss lines, 18x8 (17lb. rims) 225/45/18 S-03s..lowered on prokits
Cee el Ess: Stock brakes, 17" ADRs (? wt.) 225/545/17...AVS? lowered on Comptechs
Hellawhat: Stock brakes, ss lines, stock rims, stock tires, lowered on Comptechs
Me: X-drilled stock brakes...front and rear, ss lines, A'pexi coilovers, stock rims 225/45/17s Re730s

I just ordered ACP cross-drilled rotors and Zeal Endless Brake pads. I will let everyone know how much better it is than stock. Come on now Stock isnt too bad. I havent had any problems with them (34k mi)

as for the best brake upgrade...
let see if we can do the test... and wait and see...
realistically is it what you can afford...
if all you can afford is new brake pad... metal masters.. then that's the way to go...
if you have no disregard to price... get the brembos... I was feeling like emptying my wallet.. and took the no disregard.. route..

i believe it improves a lot.as the stock caliper is 2 pistons .brembo has 4 pistons or 6 pistons fogged caliper with bigger rotors and brake pads..but that will cost u somewhere around 2k to have them and a ss brake line and install them and they are just for the front

TypeS -
Dude, the OE calipers (fronts, and rears) are single piston. The Brembo's are either dual, or quad piston (I can't say for sure.)
Too much $$$ for me. I'll stick with what I've got.
