brand new CL-typeS or w/4k miles?

Went into the dealership and guy said he'd sell me CL-S that the manager was driving. It has 4000 miles on it. Asked how much and he said well, i'll give it to for a few hundred over invoice. Initial reaction, he'd have to do better then that. Atleast at invoice is my thought? Any advice?

Do you think the manager babied it the first 1000 miles, or drove it like a race car?

I think the manager was a woman, which could mean one of two things. She either drove it like a little girl or just beat the shit out of it cause she finally had some power. Dealer invoice was around 27800 i think.

I'd go for $1500 less than what you think you can get a brand new one for. Otherwise, just get a new one. 4k miles isn't a lot. I doubt this car has been abused any more or less than if anyone else drove it. It's all about getting the appropriate discount for a "used" car.

Didn't discuss warranty. I assume that I would get it.

Well I got my CLS for $27K out the door, and it was the demo that the manager drove around. It had 4,300 miles on it, spoiler, gold trim, and wheelocks. So, I think you can do a little better than dealer invoice.

Gotta be for under invoice. I'd expect 500 to 1000 under. I also gotta beleive that it was not only the managers car, but used as a demo also? IMO

brand new s/b only invoice plus delivery, not a penny more on a new car, forget his demo unless 2500 off invoice.

For a used 2001 cl-s, I wouldn't pay more than $3000 under invoice, and with that have them throw in an Acura extended warranty.
You can get a brand new one for $300-$600 over invoice.

Check book value on it, as if it gets totalled that is what you would get from insurance.

Just remember......that's the story ALL dealers give you on a demo, driven by a "manager" or "manager's wife". Some have even been wrecked (happened here in TN at local dealer who was later sued and settled out of court). So, be WARY!! Make the price well below invoice since it is USED regardless of never being registered. That's the other line of s@*t they hand you.

I bought mine new for only $600 over invoice and his is essentially a demo and has depreciated. I feel it should be at least $1000 below invoice, if not more.

I just bought my CL-S No Navi last week for $400 over invoice. I added a spoiler and all weather mats at $20 over invoice. The dealer had a demo "manager car" with 3900 miles and offered it to me for $1000 under invoice. He said when the car was given to the manager to drive, they understood that it was an expense and that's what they tell the accountant. I didn't know what to believe so I said no thanks and I wanted as few miles as I could get and I really wanted a black CL, the demo was white.

how much would the car depreciate if someone other than a manager bought it and drove it 4000 miles???
find out that price on Edmunds.com and ask him for that price, manager is a person too after all.

get a brand new one! who knows how that car with 4K miles was driven! IMHO, a car never drives okay like when you had it since it was a baby! even if you have warranty or extended warranty! so go with a new one...start fresh!! and also, you can get a brand new a couple of hundred $ over invoice!

First off....HOLA!

If you shop around you can find a new CLS for close to invoice. Was at the dealer last week and there were 5 or 6 CLS' on the lot waiting for a new home.
