Brake throb

Alright guys

I've read the threads about warped rotors.

How come my break pedal pulses under freeway speeds only? I've had warped rotors before and they consistently pulse. These are smooth until I get the car warmed up and travelling fast. Then the first freeway braking is like massage for my right foot.

AND... there is an "out of balance" sound from my left front in the morning that goes away when the car is up to heat and the brakes don't throb...

Riddle me this.

Can't tell ya why, but mine does the same thing. I'm just getting new EBC rotors and YellowStuff pads. Also going to change brake fluid to Motul RBF600.

You may have uneven pad deposit on your rotors. I am troubleshooting this exact symptom with my rotors. I recently "re-bedded" in my brakes to in theory, clean off the rotors and so far, the brake pedal pulsing went away. We will see if it stays that way within the next few days of driving. Did you "bed" or "burnish" in your pads originally?

Nope - pad slap and go.

It doesn't really explain the noise though.

I have the same problem and was thinking about replacing the rotors and pads.

Same here... I had my rotors cut and the pads replaced by the dealer at 22.5K miles, and it was fine for another 25K miles or so...

I've re-bedded a couple times, and by the feel of it, I think I need to do it again... (now at 75K miles)

Are you talking about taking a grinder to the pads and scouring off the glazed stuff?

I've actually done some panic stops that have acheived the same thing

Came up on stopped traffic going a little too fast and locked up the brakes... I don't get to feel the ABS kick in on dry pavement that often
