brake question

sup guys - i had a brake question. I recently replaced the pads on my wifes car (calideserttulip). And at first the pads were sticking something fierce. So I bled the brakes to no avail. Then i remembered the nut that goes inbetween caliper bolt and the caliper...seems when i took the pads off originally this had spun or tightened down allowing the caliper bolts to tighten further and further....i spun the bolt back out and think i got it...question is (dont have a manual) does this nut need any adjustment? Is all the way out okay or is there a specific length it needs to be adjusted in?

Also after changing the pads the car still shakes side to side when braking..I remember reading about a recall (here i believe) that i thought was reffering to the pads..problem persists. Possible the recall was for rotors??

kj this ones great heh heh

There is a TSB 01-017 for the front pads to be replaced. The rotors will be turned (if within spec., replaced if not).

if the car shakes side to side when braking there is definatly a problem with the rotor's. Usually that happens because the rotor's are warped. I doubt that's because of a defective rotor, usually that happens because of wear and tear and hard braking. i've noticed this happening more on my car (CL-S), guess i'm still used to my integra with upgraded brakes, that thing could stop on a dime.

I don't know about the nut on the caliper though. you should talk to a mechanic about that one.

yup thats hers...thanks for the info on the rotors. I was out working and started to think the same. The rotors have got to be warped...hope there not 100 bucks a pce. Shit rotors for my jeep are 25 a pce...crossing fingers.

I know there was drama when she tried to post here...im not gonna defend her (as she did a bit of trolling i suppose) but I would say a few of you were a bit harsh.

anyone know the going price for rotors vs. getting them turned?

is the tsb number enough to get it done? Take it to the dealer and ask them to perform TSB 01-017?? Think they will trip now that ive replaced the pads?

Aftermarket rotors are about $70 a set. Turning them would cost about the same, since you dont have access to a shop.
