Brake Pad Suggestions?

I am currently using rotora slotted rotors with axxis ultimate brake pads all around. I love the setup, huge improvement over stock but the ultimates produce way too much black brake dust. Not a huge problem when I am running on the stock rims during the winters but during the summer I have 18" ASA AR1s which are machined lipped multi spoked rims.

Just wanted to get your thoughts to see if there where pads that perform the same or better than the Ultimates with less brake dust. Also if my next pads were not ceramic would I have to replace the rotors or can I just downgrade the pads to non-ceramic without changing the rotors?

Thanks for the help.

You could use regular pads but not only will the braking be worse than ceramic but you'll eat through them pretty fast with slotted rotors. I feel your pain though. I have Axxis on the rear of my Stealth and EBC Redstuff on the front. The damn Axxis pads put out more dust than the Redstuff if you can believe it! Tough with white wheels man!

I just ordered Hawk Performance Ceramic pads along with cryo treated Powerslots from Tire Rack. I should have them tomorrow and will install them before week's end. Will post back brake dust impression vs. stock and Axxis this weekend.

Try EBC Greenstuff or Rotora Ceramics.

Ok, I've had a chance to drive around a while on the new Powerslot rotors and Hawk Performance Ceramic pads. Speaking from a pad standpoint alone, they are a lot better than the Axxis pads. The Axxis pads have got to be the worst pads for brake dust ever. I would say the brake dust build up from the Hawk pads is about the same or perhaps only slightly more than, stock and that is with slotted rotors eating into them. Not bad at all, really.

Another update... I finally cleaned my car today and noticed the front wheels were dirtier than I had thought. I didn't notice until I started cleaning. I'm hoping it was just due to the initial bedding process and the fact the slotted rotors bite into the pads more. I still think they are better than the amount of dust put out by the Axxis pads though. I'd be interested in hearing from people who own the Rotora ceramic pads.
