Brake Pad replacement

I bought front pads and thought it was time to replace, given I have 35k miles on the car..... Well, popped off the first one and I have a fuzz more than half the pad left compared to a new one.

Question is: should I just replace at this point or drive on until I get a little thinner? What's the point at which dealers usually replace them?

Thanks!

Oh well. I just slapped them on so I wouldn't have to worry about how much longer I had..... It only takes about 10 minutes per side. You only have to take off the bottom bolt and rotate the caliper upwards. Since the rotors were smooth as glass with no gouges, I passed on having them turned....

First of all you should have tried to get new pads and resurfaced rotors for FREE from your dealer, there is TSB, and usually they dont give you much hassle about it.

Second, new pads are much better off on the resurfaced rottors....

I just got mine done this past week. New rotors and new pads. Apparently the rotors were too warped to be resurfaced.

They also replaced the cruise control actuator since it never worked.

I have had no pulsing and my brakes have been great, so I went ahead and just did the pads. Even now, it brakes great. Sometimes the stupid ABS kicks it at the wierdest times, like when you come across a small dip in the road and you brake over it you can feel the ABS start to work. Odd feeling.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the stopping power of the car. As hard as I want to smash the brakes, it just stops without going into a skid.

TSB?

When did the TSB come out? I just got my pads replaced and my rotors resurfaced by the dealer about 2 months ago and they charged me about 1/2 a child to do it. Do you think I can bring something up with Acura to get my money back?
