Lately I have noticed a real deep, but noticeable noise coming from the brakes. It only happens when the car is still and you gently let off the brake pedal until the car begins to roll, but the brakes are still somewhat engaged. Hard to describe the noise, just like a deep creaky sound like metal rubbing on metal or something.

Anyone ever experience this? Time for brake servicing perhaps?

 

If you have a lot of miles, it might be time for new pads and rotor turning. Need to have it checked out. If the pads get too thin and the rivets start to show, it can ruin the rotors in short order.

 

Check your pads immediately!

 

OK, but what should i be looking for? how will i know if they are messed up? the car was in for service about 5 months ago, you think they would have gone bad in that short period of time?

 

Since you don't have the knowledge, I suggest you take it to the place you had the service right away.
