brake light?

lets go back in time, when first got my car the brake light would come on everyonce in a while then go away.... not a problem... now every other day or so it comes on when i leave work (6am) and eventually goes off before i get home (15mile drive). fluid is good, brakes are in great shape etc.... any ideas?

and yes the E-brake is off, i hardly ever use it.

i assume youre talking about the emergency brake light, u might try adjusting the e brake (take off the wheels, use a screw driver and click the little gear to tighten or loosen)

yeah, well its lit with the brake off, then when i apply the actual ebrake it gets brighter... drives me nuts, but i'll screw around with the gear, is it by the rear driverside?

Open the master cyl and look at the cap. There is a float on it. It triggers the light. Make sure it moves freely. Move it up and down.

I had that issue...was the brake fluid.

If not...then I don't know what to tell you.

Mine turns on when it gets below 40 degrees or so, but then when the car warms up it goes away. Luckily thats not often in FL!
