Brake Job from Acura
I need to have my brakes done... front pads & rotors, and rear pads.
I do not qualify for the TSB because my pads are down to 10%.
The Acura dealer I went to wants $259 for the front (pads and rotor resurfacing) + $189 for the rear (Pads), + tax = $500 total
That seems VERY high to me... you guys have anything I can use for comparison?? suggestions??
Thanks,
Dom

I was quoted 315$ for mine (if the warranty, Good Will, will not cover it). Unfortunately that's a steep chunk of change to bite into, so i'm looking around for prices as well.
Anyone have any prices within the Houston area that I can compare this to?

for that kinda money, you could have new, upgraded rotors (stock, cross drilled, slotted, whatever) and pads. it's an easy enough job that you could have an independent shop do it without them messing things up. i did my own brakes and it was a piece of cake. just my 2 cents.

When having my oil change a few weeks ago at my dealership in Maryland. The service advisor said I had about 10% left on the rear pads of my 2000TL. They gave me a price of $170 for rear brake pads. I said I would get it done at my next oil change most likely Jan. The car will be 3years old next month & I have slightly over 28,000 miles. The front pads & rotors were replaced TSB at 15,000 under warranty.

I say change your brakes yourself.
get your brake pads for around 30-50 from any auto store- order online if you want performance brakes
Take off the wheel
Take off the two caliper bolts using 14mm wrench/socket
slide the caliper off of rotar
pull off the junk pads
push the caliper piston in with your hand
insert new pads into caliper
put caliper back on rotar
put two caliper bolts back on
put the wheel on
---REPEAT---
If the brakes squeak after you put the pads on you can use the glazing compound to make them shut up.
Takes about 5-15 min a wheel and you save yourself a couple hundred dollars!
I swore to myself that I would never pay for another brake job after my honda accord ended up costing $300 for new pads/installation.

Just crazy.
Go to tirerack and order two new front Brembo rotors for 50$ each and then pick up two pairs of green stuff pads for 140 total. Then, get anyone to install them. There you have better rotors and better pads for probably about 340$ if you count 100$ for labor. This is what I plan to do unless I can get new pads and rotors from the dealer under the TSB.
