Is bowling ball trim easily removable??

Is bowling ball trim easily removable??
I want to remove the trim and paint it aluminum color. Does anyone know if these things easilty removable? Jens? Or how to remove them? Is it a matter of take a screwdriver and popping them out? I dont want to end up cracking a chunk off.
